Assembling the planks; applying the saturation coat

Lay the first plank on your work table with the scarf facing up and it's edge about 1" in from the front edge of the table. The scarf should be about 2' from either end of the table.
Place the matching plank half on the table so that it's scarf is also facing up and is about an inch from the first. If your table is not long enough to support the full length of the planks you will have to support the overhanging ends.
Put a piece of waxed paper under the area where the scarfs will be glued
to keep from gluing your planks to the table. Make sure it extends several inches beyond the scarf area in all directions.
Thoroughly mix 1/2 oz. of unthickened epoxy in a small cup, and brush it on both scarf areas with a disposable brush. Wait a few minutes, and if the wood absorbs all of the epoxy,
brush on another coat.
